Rally & Pep was established January 2023. Founder and head coach Kayte Natter had spent the Fall of 2022 volunteering for PYA Cheerleading and saw the opportunity to grow the Cheer program in Port Washington. Rally & Pep was officially formed and partnered with PYA to create a Winter Basketball Cheerleading program and a Spring Performance-based Cheerleading program.
Also beginning January 2023, Danceworks offered space at their studio to continue the program throughout the Winter and Spring. Rally & Pep held tumbling classes and a Competition Prep Cheer team at the studio. With the growth of both Rally & Pep classes and Danceworks competition team, a new space was needed for the Fall of 2023. P10 opened their doors for the semester and Sport Washington allowed us to store our mats in their truck all season long! In January 2024, we opened our very own Rally & Pep Gym located at 273 Main Street in Port Washington!!
During the 2023-2024 season, Rally & Pep had 4 Novice All Star Competition Cheerleading Teams and competed in 3 different competitions. We also broadened the tumbling program to include Acrobatics as well. The recreational cheerleading program expanded to other towns and includes instructional programs at the JCC in Roslyn, the Greenvale School and Roslyn Flag Football Cheerleading.
